Welcome to PICCS!

PIRE students and faculty relax at the PICCS summer school in Munich, 2009

The Program in Cognitive and Computational Systems (PICCS) is an international education and research program for students studying brain sciences at Georgetown and Howard Universities in Washington, DC. PICCS brings world-renowned guest lecturers to Georgetown and Howard, and provides support for students to travel internationally and conduct research at partner labs in Finland, France and Germany. PICCS students learn to use research techniques pioneered by these partner labs, as well as gain insight into international perspectives on neuroscience theories and conducting scientific research.

PICCS is funded by the National Science Foundation as part of its PIRE initiative (Programs in International Research and Education).
